Frequently Asked Questions

No general household garbage should be put in the skip bin. For example, anything that would go in your kitchen bin does not go in a skip bin, nor does anything that is dangerous or requires a permit to move. We do not transport restricted, regulated, hazardous/toxic waste.

Other items include, but are not limited to:

  • Asbestos (or anything containing asbestos)
  • Cement fibre sheeting products
  • Batteries
  • Tyres

  • Herbicides and pesticides
  • Medical waste
  • Explosives and gas cylinders
  • Gas containers such as bottles and cylinders
  • Biological waste
  • Mattresses
  • Copper Logs

If you have these items and would like to dispose of them, please call us.

6m: $150
8m / 10m: $200

Our bins are marked with 2 fill lines:

  • Sand fill line
  • Top of bin fill line

If you are using the bin for sand and other such materials you can only fill the bin to the sand line. Filling the bin over this line with any material will potentially make the bin too heavy for transport.

Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation was introduced into WA law on 27 April 2015, to recognise the responsibilities that others have in the transportation of goods by road, beyond that of just the driver and operator.

Please refer to Main Roads WA website so you can understand your responsibility.

Overfilling of the bin will incur an additional fee and, in some cases, an additional bin may be required at your expense.

Our normal skip bin rental period is 7 days.

If you require the skip bin for a longer period please inform us the day before your scheduled pick up day.

A wasted journey fee will be charged if we are not advised.

Additional weekly hire is only $50 per bin, per week.

It is difficult for us to provide an exact delivery time. Delivery depends on a number of factors, including how many other deliveries we have on the day and when we will be in your area. If you need a skip bin for an early morning start, it is best to have the bin delivered the day before use.

The Hirer If your employees or neighbours fill the skip bin, you are responsible for making sure it is filled according to our requirements. If hazardous materials are found in the bin, you must rectify this before filling the bin any further. Additional charges will be passed on to the hirer at the prevailing rates for bins that have been moved, overfilled, filled incorrectly or contain hazardous materials. By accepting delivery of our bin, you acknowledge and agree to this condition of use.

Yes, however as per our standard terms and conditions we will accept no responsibility for any damage caused.

All care is taken by our drivers on delivery and collection with the use of pads under the stabiliser legs.

Yes, all our bins have a door for wheelbarrow access.

The term Asbestos covers any product that contains asbestos, including vacuumed waste.

Deliberate concealment of Asbestos products or hazardous waste in our skip bins is illegal, and penalties will apply.

Fines may be applied from Worksafe, the Department of Transport, the Department of Environment & Regulation, the EPA, or all authorities.

Hazardous materials are not limited to asbestos but include liquid waste like paint, oil, thinners, chemicals, and pesticides. Radioactive waste, medical waste, LPG gas cylinders, and rubber products such as tyres and carpet underlay are all unacceptable to be placed within our skip bins.

Tips to tell if a product contains Asbestos

Use the below steps to consider whether the product contains asbestos:

  • Asbestos Fencing
  • Asbestos Fibres Exposed

AGE – If you believe the product was manufactured before 1990, then you should consider the product to contain asbestos. If your suburb was generally constructed before this time, you should also consider the product as “containing asbestos”. For example, if you live in Scarborough, fibre cement products will likely be asbestos. In contrast, if you live in a new suburb such as Mindarie, it would be unlikely the fibre cement product is asbestos.

MARKING – Look at the product for identification markings that state, “Does not contain asbestos.” If marked as such, the fibre cement product is safe to dispose of in our skip bins. If there are no markings, then the product should be treated as containing asbestos.

COLOUR – Whilst not definitive, asbestos products tend to be darker in colour (grey), whereas cement fibre products that are asbestos-free are almost white in colour.

FIBRES – If the material you want to dispose of is broken, you can observe small asbestos fibres protruding along the broken edge. Cement fibre products will not have fibres. (Please do not break the product to see if it contains fibres, as they may be released into the atmosphere).

EDGE – When broken, asbestos edges are generally clean, like a piece of broken glass. Cement fibre products will give the broken edge an appearance similar to a piece of torn cardboard.

FENCING – If the sheet has 7 curves, it is asbestos. If it has 5 curves, it is cement fibre.

Our trucks are significantly larger than your car, so please keep the following in mind:

  • Ensure your site is clean and level for safe delivery, placement, and bin retrieval.
  • The truck is 2.5 meters wide, with an additional 50 cm for each side mirror. We require a minimum of 3.5 meters of space if the truck needs to reverse to place your bin.
  • The driver must open the truck door to exit, so please account for any low walls, hedges, or similar obstacles.
  • Check the clearance above – trees, eaves, power lines, etc. To comply with WA Worksafe legislation, we need a minimum of 6 meters of clearance or 8 meters if power lines are present.
  • The driver needs 1 meter of clear, unobstructed space around the bin to work safely and avoid accidents. As per WA Worksafe regulations, you are responsible for providing a safe work site and adhering to all relevant OH&S legislation.
  • To avoid extra charges for “wasted journeys” or “waiting time”, please ensure that access is available on both the delivery and pick-up days.
